As Kentucky football dominated ULM Saturday, two of the biggest uncommitted recruits on the staff’s big board for the Class of 2022 were in attendance for opening weekend in Lexington.
One was 4-star offensive tackle Aamil Wagner, who made the trip down from Dayton (OH). And according to Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports, he had a “fantastic” visit.

He spent some time alongside UK commit, and potential offensive-line teammate Kiyaunta Goodwin. Imagine these two lining up at the tackle spots for the coming years.

The brother of former UK wide-receiver Ahmad Wagner, Aamil is currently ranked as a top-150 player in the country, according to 247 Sports Composite. They also have him ranked as the 11th-best offensive tackle in the class.
Six schools are currently in the hunt to land a commitment from Wagner as UK tries to win out against Ohio State, Penn State, Stanford, Notre Dame, and Auburn. Maryland seems to be sneaking in as a dark-horse school as well.
At one point, it seemed to be a near-lock he would be in Ohio State’s class, but over the last several months, that door has started to reopen. Nevertheless, Kentucky will have to keep fighting some of the top programs to ensure he winds up in Lexington. This weekend is a good start.
Alongside Wagner was the other top player on the recruiting big board in Dane Key.
Dane Key, 4-star receiver and No. 2 player in the state, was at Kroger Field for UK's offensive explosion yesterday.

Likely to join the long list of top in-state kids UK has locked down since whiffing in 2018. Let the state's HS coaches tell you how: https://t.co/14fHbRzlYg
The 4-star wideout from Fredrick Douglass High School in Lexington, is currently ranked as a top-250 player in the country according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, and is considered the second-best player in the state. He is currently down to a top 12 of Kentucky, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Wisconsin, Oregon, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Virginia, and Michigan State.
Key has made it known he wants to see how the offenses look on the field before making a college decision, and with the offensive performance put on display Saturday, one could assume he quite enjoyed what he saw.
Kentucky has long been seen as one of the top contenders in this recruitment, and fans should expect to see him back on campus a few more times this fall.
