The 2021 college football season is officially here, and the Kentucky Wildcats faced the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks in Kroger Field on Saturday.

The game didn’t get off to the best start for the Cats as the first pass attempt from new quarterback Will Levis was intercepted allowing ULM to get on the scoreboard first taking a 7-0 lead.

However, that lead didn’t last long as Levis hit Wan’Dale Robinson for a 33-yard TD tying things up at 7-all.

After forcing a punt, it took the Cats one play to take the lead as Levis threw a beautiful 58-yard TD pass to Josh Ali making it 14-7.

Later in the half, Chris Rodriguez found the end zone followed by the second receiving TD for Robinson and the Cats took a 28-7 lead into the halftime break.

The second half got off to a slower start for the Cats as they didn’t put any more points on the scoreboard until 3:54 left in the 3rd on a 45-yard FG from Matt Ruffolo making it 31-7.

The offense eventually put together a good drive as Levis led another TD drive hitting tight end Brendan Bates for the 4-yard TD pushing the lead to 38-7.

Will Levis wrapped up his day following that drive finishing with 367 yards and four scores.

Beau Allen finished the day for the Cats at QB as Kentucky rolled to a dominating 45-10 victory over ULM.
