It’s no secret that Terry Wilson’s career at Kentucky was a roller coaster. From his first to last game, Wilson had several ups and downs. While that doesn’t take anything away from the exceptional person he is and the perfect locker room guy he was, it just simply wasn’t meant to be for Wilson to play quarterback at Kentucky. However, it appears Wilson may have found the perfect fit.

In the offseason Wilson transferred to the University of New Mexico. With immediate eligibility, he was granted the starting role for opening day and exceeded the expectations of many. Wilson put on a show with both his arm and his legs, throwing for three touchdowns in his first game with New Mexico — a stat he only put up once (Louisville, 2018) in a game at Kentucky.
Final: New Mexico 27, Houston Baptist 17. ‘Terry Touchdown’ finishes 21-of-27 passing for 179 yards with 3 touchdowns & no picks. Also ran for 54 yards on 9 carries. As a Division I QB, Terry Wilson has now won 18 games in 26 starts https://t.co/R50v6094eB— Mark Story (@markcstory) September 3, 2021
Wilson also carried the ball for 54 yards on nine attempts, making it impossible for Houston Baptist to stop him. While it may have not worked to the level of some’s expectations at Kentucky, it sure was satisfying to see Wilson put on a show and light up the opposition in his first start with his new program.
