Happy Saturday, Big Blue Nation!
We are a week removed from a game in which the Kentucky Wildcats looked, shall we say, lackluster. They eked out a win over the Chattanooga Mocs by a margin of five while the spread was somewhere around -31. The offense was stuck in the mud and the defense, for the most part, let Chattanooga march up and down the field.
Offensive coordinator Liam Coen admitted after the game that he didn’t plan well for the Mocs and that his team had a bad day of practice the day before. It was clear that the team wasn’t focused on the task at hand and they almost paid for it.
I don’t expect that lack of focus in tonight’s match up in Columbia against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Cats are favored in the game tonight even though it’s their first road test of the season. Shane Beamer has a difficult job ahead of him with the mess that Will Muschamp left his his wake.
This is a bounce back opportunity for the Cats ahead of a three game stretch that includes Florida, LSU, and at Georgia. It’s important that Kentucky wins tonight and, for confidence purposes, it’s important that they look good doing it.
