After last week’s thrilling win over Missouri, the Kentucky Wildcats found themselves in another barnburner this week.
Thankfully, the result would be the same, as Kentucky held on for a 28-23 over FCS squad Chattanooga.
The play of the game was made by redshirt senior safety Tyrell Ajian, who grabbed a pick-six late in the game to put Kentucky ahead 28-16 and was effectively the difference between a close win and an absolutely brutal loss.
After playing great over the first two weeks, Will Levis came back down to Earth this week, as the Penn State transfer finished 23/35 passing for 254 yards and two scores vs. two interceptions and a lost fumble.
Wan’Dale Robinson was once again the star on offense, finishing with eight grabs for 111 yards. He’s the first Wildcat to have three-straight 100-yard receiving games since Derek Abney in 2001, as well as the first Cat to ever have three-straight 100-yard receiving games to start a season.
Most importantly, Kentucky has returned to .500 overall all-time,for the first time since 2012, as the program now sports an all-time mark of 632-632-44.
Up next, Kentucky will look to get win No. 633 in Columbia next Saturday when they face the South Carolina Gamecocks.
