Kentucky vs. Chattanooga game thread & pregame reading

The Cats look to go 3-0 to start the season.

After a couple of solid performances to start the season, the Kentucky Wildcats football team will take the field Saturday against Chattanooga for a final tune-up game before they get into the middle of their SEC schedule.

Game time is set for 12 EST on SEC Network+, or you can also watch it with an ESPN+ subscription. For help on how to watch today's game, click here.

Kentucky is coming off a 35-28 victory over Missouri, in what ended up being a slug fest till the very end. Plagued by turnovers, the Cats allowed the Tigers to hang around until the final drive, but they did just enough and will now look to improve to 3-0 today.

Chattanooga comes to Lexington featuring players with a ton of experience at the college level. Despite that, they struggle offensively, and the Cats’ offensive talent will just be too much for their defense to stop for four quarters.

Throughout the game, expect to see Kentucky mix in some different players as they try to figure out the right rotations on both sides of the ball before they head to Columbia next weekend. Specifically for the offense, today could be a huge for guys like Beau Allen, Kavosiey Smoke and Michael Drennen, as they should get plenty of opportunities to show their skill sets throughout the game.

All week, Kentucky has been a heavy favorite in terms of betting trends. The line currently sits at UK -32 with the over/under set at 48.

An interesting note to go along with today's game: If the Cats get the win, Mark Stoops would tie his longest win streak of his nine-year tenure in Lexington at five games.

Now, time to go beat Chattanooga.

Go Cats!
