Recruiting never stops for the Kentucky Wildcats, and certainly not for the new coaching staff, who has been a jolt of energy for John Calipari and the Kentucky fanbase.

In-person recruiting started back up this past week and the coaching staff has already hit the ground hard.

Today, the Kentucky coaching staff was in for a pair of 2023 recruits, one of which got an offer, and the Cats seem to already be in good shape with the other.

John Calipari was in to see 4-star Justin Edwards, a small forward out of Philadelphia. Edwards is ranked as the No. 30 overall recruit in the class of 2023, but could see a significant ratings boost in the next composite rankings update.

The 6-foot-7, 180-pound Edwards holds additional offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Miami, Virginia Tech, UConn, Oklahoma State and Penn State among others.

And according to Andrew Slater, arguably the most plugged-in guy in all of recruiting, if Kentucky offers, Edwards has a good chance to land in Lexington.

Calipari and Orlando Antigua were also in for 5-star Mackenzie Mgbako, the No. 6 overall player in 2023 and the No. 3 small forward in the class, and offered him a scholarship.

The 6-foot-8, 185-pounder out of New Jersey holds offers from Duke, Georgetown, Auburn, Maryland, Georgetown, Ohio State, North Carolina, LSU, UCLA, among others to offer the 5-star, with Duke being seen as the early favorite, holding two crystal ball predictions to land Mgbako at the moment.

Now that Mgbako has a Kentucky offer, one would think Calipari and co. are now a serious contender for his services.
