Mark Stoops sure seems to be a big fan of the late Al Davis.
If you recall, Davis once coined the famed football phrase “just win, baby!”
Stoops’ Kentucky Wildcats may not always look pretty, but they’re great at finding ways to pull out victory from what looked like a brutal defeat.
That was the case Saturday night at Kroger Field with the Missouri Tigers in town. Kentucky certainly looked like the better team throughout, but they made far too many mistakes to have any business winning a conference game against a quality SEC foe.
Thankfully, they did just enough to pull out a 35-28 win and are now 2-0 with Chattanooga on deck.
The Wildcats clearly have a lot of work to do if they’re going to become a legitimate SEC East contender, but they’re still 2-0 with nearly a full season of football left.
