Sunday Headlines: Rahsaan Lewis Edition

A walk-on wide receiver wowed fans at an open practice yesterday

At yesterday’s Fan Day practice, it was a walk-on wide receiver that stole the show.

Rahsaan Lewis hasn’t been a well-known name among the Big Blue Nation, but the last name may ring a bell as he was known as being the son of Ray Lewis who transferred to Kentucky.

But Rahsaan made a name for himself at the Fan Day practice yesterday, making two great plays on deep throws and for a team that has struggled in the deep passing game over the last couple seasons, fans are excited about what Lewis may bring to the table.

At 5’11” and 180 pounds, his physical stature doesn’t stand out as a deep ball threat, but the former defensive back has blazing speed and an ability to track the ball in that could help separate himself in the wide receiver room.

Now, to throw a little water on the fire, Lewis’s two big plays on Saturday did come against backup defensive backs... but there’s been a lot of positivity from the program about how the junior has performed in the spring.

Maybe his performance will lead to more reps with the starters and if he continues to perform well, who knows... Kentucky may have a breakout player on their hands.

Check out this footage from LEX18 yesterday of Lewis in action.
