Ryan Baer is officially off the board,

On Thursday, the 4-star Class of 2022 offensive lineman announced his commitment to the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Kentucky Wildcats were among his finalists.

Baer, a 6-foot-8, 331 pound offensive tackle from East Lake (OH), is the 31st-ranked offensive tackle and 10th-best recruit from Ohio via Rivals. Among the schools to offer him a scholarship include Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, Iowa State, West Virginia, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Carolina.

At one time, Kentucky was viewed as the favorite for Baer, but he’s been trending away from the program over the last two months. Michigan State was seen as the favorite briefly before Pittsburgh came on strong in the end.

It’s unclear if the Wildcats will continue to recruit Baer now that he’s announced his commitment. They currently have 11 pledges in the Class of 2022, three of which are offensive lineman in Kiyaunta Goodwin, Grant Bingham and Nikolas Hall. Kentucky is also still in the hunt for Aamil Wagner.
