Once again this season, alcohol will not be sold outside of the luxury suites in Kroger Field for Kentucky football games.
UK deputy AD Marc Hill met with the media on Tuesday evening to go through different game-day operations for Kroger Field this fall.
“The stance is still where it’s at for this coming fall,” said Hill in the press conference.
The SEC ban was lifted in May 2019, which then left it up to the schools to make their own decision if alcohol would be sold at their stadiums. Kentucky is still one of the few schools in the conference that do not allow alcohol sales to the general public alongside the perennial football powerhouses in Alabama and Georgia.
Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhart has stood tall on this issue since the rule changed two seasons ago, and it doesn’t seem that he will a budge anytime soon.
Barnhart has not had a media appearance this summer to address questions on the issue, but he will join KSR on Thursday morning according to Matt Jones. During his time on-air, one could imagine that he will field some questions on the matter or even speak to it openly himself.
