The Kentucky Wildcats are in the mix for several of the top recruits in future classes and more positive news continues to come.

On Monday, Joseph Tipton of On3 reported that 2022 center Adem Bona has cut his list down to eight options.

His list now includes the NBL, UCLA Bruins, Miami Hurricanes, Arizona State Sun Devils, Baylor Bears, Kansas Jayhawks, USC Trojans, and Kentucky.

The 6-foot-9 center is currently ranked as the No. 13 overall recruit in 2022 and is the No. 3 overall center.

Bona is also going to be taking visits as he continues to work through the recruitment process, according to On3.

“Bona will have a Zoom meeting with the NBL on Sept. 1. He’s also set four official visits. Bona will start his college tours with an unofficial visit to USC on Sept. 10. Kansas will get the first official visit on Sept. 17, followed by Baylor on Sept. 24, Kentucky on Oct. 1, and UCLA on Oct. 22. Miami will likely get the fifth official visit, although a date has not been set yet. Arizona State will likely get an unofficial visit at some point as well.”

As of right now, the Cats are viewed as the favorite to land Bona as they have all four Crystal Ball predictions and three FutureCast predictions.

However, that is not the only news around Kentucky recruiting.

Joseph Tipton is also reporting that 2022 guard Nick Smith has changed his official list of options.

Back on August 5th, Smith announced a top 8 that included the Overtime Elite, NBL, Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks, Oklahoma Sooners, Kansas, and Kentucky.

On Monday, Smith announced that he is no longer considering the professional route removing the NBL and Overtime Elite from his list. However, he is adding the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Memphis Tigers to his official list.

Smith is currently ranked as the No. 19 overall player in the 2022 class and is the No. 3 overall combo guard, according to 247 Sports.

As of now, there are no Crystal Ball predictions for Smith but the Cats have two FutureCast predictions to land the 6-foot-5 guard.
