Sunday Headlines: Volleyball Cats’ Dominant Start Edition

The defending champions are off to a strong start this season

The Kentucky Volleyball team is picking up where it left off last season as the No. 3 Kentucky Volleyball team swept Cincinnati 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-18) to claim the 2021 Dayton Invitational championship.

Kentucky won all nine sets it played this weekend and never faced more than a two-point deficit in the season’s opening-weekend tournament. An all-tournament team will be named following the conclusion of the final match between Dayton and Texas State, and several Cats are expected to make the team.

The strong start to the season builds momentum as the team prepares for its home opener on Friday against Northern Iowa at 7:30 p.m. ET. Don’t forget, UK will unveil its 2020 championship banner before the match.

Tickets are available at the UK ticket office or can be purchased at the gate on match day.

At #3 in the country and off to a hot start in their 2021 campaign, the Kentucky Volleyball team is proving that last season was no fluke and the Cats are a force to be reckoned with on the court.
