Rajon Rondo is on the move again, and it appears he’ll soon land with one of the NBA’s top title contenders.
Now, Shams Charania reports that Rondo is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers are the frontrunners to sign Rajon Rondo after he clears waivers on Monday, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Rondo was a key part of the Lakers‘ 2020 championship team. https://t.co/lT4jCtoCXw— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) August 28, 2021
This would be the second Lakers stint for Rondo, who played there from 2018-20 and helped the LeBron James-led Lakeshow win the 2020 NBA title.
Last season, Rondo averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 assists in 45 games with the Clippers and Atlanta Hawks while shooting a career-high 40.4% from 3-point range. The two-time world champion has averaged 10 points, 8.1 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game for his career.
Time to get title No. 3.
