Rajon Rondo is on the move again, and it appears he’ll soon land with one of the NBA’s top title contenders.
Today, Rondo and the Memphis Grizzlies agreed to a buyout following his trade from the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this month, which was the expected outcome all along.
Now, Shams Charania reports that Rondo is expected to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

This would be the second Lakers stint for Rondo, who played there from 2018-20 and helped the LeBron James-led Lakeshow win the 2020 NBA title.
The most recent odds to win the 2022 NBA Finals have the Lakers trailing only the Brooklyn Nets for the best odds to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Last season, Rondo averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 assists in 45 games with the Clippers and Atlanta Hawks while shooting a career-high 40.4% from 3-point range. The two-time world champion has averaged 10 points, 8.1 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game for his career.
Time to get title No. 3.
