One Kentucky Wildcats football target in the Class of 2022 announced his commitment on Thursday afternoon, as Trussville (AL) native chose to stay close to home and play for the Auburn Tigers.
Kelly announced his commitment on Twitter. He chose the Tigers over a final list that included Kentucky and Alabama.

Kelly is listed as an athlete, but should play receiver in college. He is currently a 4-star recruit via 247 Sports Composite, as well as a top-20 athlete in the country.
With Bryan Harsin picking up his second big commitment of the day for the Tigers, Mark Stoops and his staff will now continue to turn their focus on their top skill target in the class, Lexington’s own Dane Key.
There currently is no timetable for a commitment from Key, but all indications are that Kentucky is in a good spot to land the 4-star wideout. Fans should expect to see that recruitment start rolling again once games begin and he can evaluate the offenses on his list.
The Cats currently sit at 12 recruits in Class of 2022, which features one player who is projected to play receiver in college in Jordan Anthony. Kentucky also added another recruit this week in defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye, as well as adding legacy recruit Ty Bryant for the Class of 2023 earlier this afternoon.
