Kentucky volleyball ranked No. 3 in first AVCA Top-25 Poll

The defending champs will begin the season ranked inside the top five and No. 1 in the SEC.

The American Volleyball Coaches’ Association announced its preseason top-25 poll Monday, featuring the defending national champion Kentucky Wildcats at No. 3 overall.

Kentucky joins the No. 6 Florida Gators as one of two SEC teams ranked inside the top 10 and one of six to either be ranked or receive votes.

The Wildcats earned 17 first-place votes, the second most behind the preseason No. 1 Texas Longhorns, who got 32. The Wisconsin Badgers will start the season ranked No. 2 after getting 15 first-place votes and 1522 total points.

The AVCA poll is released every Monday afternoon and consists of head coaches from around the country who vote in the poll.
