Kentucky football handed out a big offer this week, as they’ve thrown their hat in the ring for a top-10 player in the country out of Georgia.
Lebbeus Overton, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive lineman tweeted out that he landed an offer from Kentucky late Wednesday.

Overton currently ranks as a 5-star recruit in the class of 2023, and is ranked as the No. 2 player in the class according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He is actually ranked as the No. 1 overall player by both 247 Sports and ESPN.
Coming off a summer where he visited Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Ohio State, he holds an offer from basically every major program in college football. Luckily for Kentucky, they have a card up their sleeve that might carry some weight in the end as they look to get seriously involved in this recruitment.
What is that wildcard? Overton’s mother, Eunice Thomas, is a former Kentucky volleyball player from the earlier 1990s.
If that connection isn’t enough, you might have recognized a familiar name on the list of people tagged in his tweet, as he tagged former Kentucky nose guard Donte Rumph, who is a trainer in the Alpharetta area.
With plenty of time left to get involved in this recruitment, let’s see if the Cats can pull off what would be a colossal recruiting win.
