UPDATE

The first prediction for where Adem Bona will land was just logged at Rivals by basketball recruiting analyst Jamie Shaw, who is picking Kentucky for the top-10 recruit.

Adem Bona is hopeful that he will receive a scholarship offer from the Kentucky Wildcats soon.

And that soon will likely come this month when Bona makes an official visit to Lexington on Aug. 28.

The 6-foot-10 big man has his sights set on that Kentucky offer.

“I’ve arranged a visit to Kentucky on the 28th of August,” he told KSR. “I’m probably going to be offered on the 28th of August.”

Bona doesn’t put up the eye-popping numbers that a lot of the other top prospects do, but college coaches love his defensive abilities, his energy, and the willingness to do the small things that can make a huge difference.

Kansas, USC, and UCLA are also heavily recruiting the Prolific Prep prospect, but Kentucky is viewed as one of the top contenders if an offer is extended.

The Turkish big man says he’s looking for a school that feels like home. He also had some nice praise of Kentucky and the coaching staff.

“Kentucky, I’ve been in contact with them for a while,” Bona told KSR at the NBPA Top 100 Camp this week. “I have a great relationship with the coaches, the coaching staff, everyone. Looking back on Kentucky, they have a great history, send players to the pros and teach them winning ways. I’m all about that.”

Kentucky is still looking for its first frontcourt pledge of the 2021 class. If Bona gets that offer, perhaps he’ll be that guy.
