Shaedon Sharpe set to announce list; “likely” to be a Wildcat by end of August, per report

Kentucky is currently viewed as the heavy favorite for Sharpe.

One of the Kentucky Wildcats’ top recruiting targets is set to announce his list of schools in consideration.

Five-star guard Shaedon Sharpe will announce his top 10 on Tuesday, he announced on Instagram. Sharpe officially visited Lexington in June and also holds offers from Alabama, Kansas, USC, Oregon, Illinois, Oklahoma State, and Arizona among others.

A 6-4, 175-pound native of Canada, Sharpe plays at Dream City Christian High School (AZ) and is ranked eighth nationally by 247 Sports Composite, which also has him ranked second among shooting guards.

Kentucky is currently viewed as the favorite while holding every 247 Crystal Ball and Rivals FutureCast prediction made thus far.

Adding to this, Ben Roberts of the Lexington Herald-Leader writes that Sharpe is expected to become a Kentucky Wildcat by the end of September.

This has evolved into the worst-kept secret in national recruiting circles over the past few weeks. Sharpe, who plays for the same Nike program that produced Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, took a surprise official visit to Lexington last month, and it has been expected since then that he would ultimately commit to the Wildcats.

There’s no official timetable for an announcement on Sharpe’s final recruiting decision, but — barring a major surprise at this point — he’s likely to be a Kentucky Wildcats commitment by the end of next month.

If this comes to pass, Sharpe would join a 2022 Kentucky class that already includes five-star combo guard Skyy Clark and will likely add more before the fall signing period ends.

For now, check out some recent highlights of Sharpe in action.
