Hopefully these last few weeks of summer have been enjoyable for you and your family!
After an extended summer vacation, the Kentucky Dad Podcast kicked back off this week with Justin Rowland of Cats Illustrated joining the show.
Justin is one of the most trusted voices in the Kentucky media, and he’s also one of the more visible fathers.
If you follow Justin (@RowlandRIVALS) on Twitter then you’re likely to see some Wildcat scoop followed by a Dad story with little separation between the two.
His relatable nature and willingness to interact with fans makes Justin the perfect guest for the podcast and I greatly appreciated him spending some of his time to do it.
With the multitude of substantial off-season news it only made sense to dive into a little more direct sorts of discussion than we normally do on the Dad Pod.
Since he works directly with college athletics for a living, I was excited to speak with Justin and get his take on the newfound world of Name, Image and Likeness. His Rivals site has already partnered with UK linebacker DeAndre Square to create a podcast that contains a player’s point-of-view.
Here are some topics we hit for both football and basketball.
Football:
- Thoughts on QB race
- New offense expectations
- Defensive break-out player
Basketball:
- What happened with Kofi?
- Jalen Duren prediction
- Under the radar contributor
- Does TyTy need to be a superstar?
Dad Topics:
- Post-Covid happenings
- Space Jam 2 review
- Dad Jokes
It was great to be back on the mic hosting the Kentucky Dad Podcast again.
Make sure you’re following on Twitter at @KentuckyDadPod and checking out @aseaofblue for all your UK sports coverage.
I’m looking forward to getting back on rhythm with the Dad and Cats by 90 podcasts.
You can find both by searching “A Sea of Blue” on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
