For the second time in three years, the Kentucky Wildcats will clash with the Ohio State Buckeyes in Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, it was announced that the 2021 CBS Sports Classic will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s the same arena Kentucky fell to Ohio State at during the 2019-20 season.
Kentucky vs. Ohio State will happen after the conclusion of UCLA vs. North Carolina, which is slated for 3 pm ET on December 18th.
The Buckeyes are coming off a 21-10 season with Chris Holtmann in his fifth season as head coach. They return six of their top eight scorers from a team that earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, though they did lose leading scorer Duane Washington.
Kentucky was originally slated to take on North Carolina this season, but due to COVID-19 testing protocols, the teams met last season after Kentucky was originally supposed to play UCLA. The Wildcats will instead take on the Buckeyes in this year’s edition of the annual event.
This will be the eighth-straight season of the CBS Sports Classic. North Carolina sports a 5-2 record in the event. Ohio State is 4-3, Kentucky is 3-4, and UCLA is 2-5.
