Oscar Tshiebwe has already become a fan-favorite in his brief time at Kentucky.
The wild thing is, he hasn’t even set foot on the court yet to show fans just how talented he is. That is going to change in a few short months though.
As October quickly approaches, the hype for Oscar continues to grow, and for good reason. After a stellar freshman season for West Virginia, many thought he would take the Mountaineers to the next level in his second season in Morgantown. Even though that wasn’t the case, he finally ended up where he always wanted to be.
Jeff Borzello of ESPN released his most recent top transfer rankings (which will change for the new entries from the last few days) and he has high expectations for Tshiebwe this season, as he has him coming in at No. 8 overall.
Here is what he had to say about Oscar:
“Tshiebwe was one of the best big men in the country as a freshman (11.2 PPG, 9.3 RPG) but struggled through 10 games this season before leaving. He ultimately chose Kentucky over the likes of Miami, Illinois and NC State.”
If this top-10 ranking holds true, than with the other talent that John Calipari has brought in this season, it could be one heck of a bounceback year in Lexington.
For the other transfer pieces Borzello has Kellan Grady at 10th overall, Sahvir Wheeler 17th overall, and CJ Fredrick 64th overall.
