A few days ago, there was a ton of slander in the direction of former Kentucky Wildcat Keldon Johnson and his addition to Team USA for The Olympics. “Critics” were calling for Ja Morant or Trae Young to be added to the team instead of Johnson and couldn’t believe the decision that was made. It’s indeed still early, but man did they have a little bit of crow served up on Sunday evening.
In his exhibition debut with Team USA, Johnson was the spark his team needed before heading to Tokyo for The Games. He put up 15 points in his 17 minutes off the bench, scoring 10 of his 15 in the third period and making huge effort plays on both ends of the floor.

His hustle, athleticism and willingness to grind both ends of the floor brings so much value to Team USA. He’s also in incredible shape and had been practicing with Team USA before his addition to the team, so there’s already some continuity there.

Of course his former coach took to Twitter to recognize the strong efforts by Johnson.
He was challenged for making the team and he used it as fuel!

Proud of you, Keldon Johnson! https://t.co/juKdbftAcu
The Olympic Games will begin Friday, July 23rd and just when the entire world began to question the capability of this team, they snag a credible victory over a heavily experienced Spain team on their way to the games.

We’re on a yacht in The Bahamas, about to jump in the ocean and his teammates are worried about sharks. One of them asks what he’ll do if a shark tries to bite him.
“I’ll bite him first.”
Then he jumps in the water.
A few days late on this... but this is too great to pass up.
