Despite a strong push from former Ole Miss assistant Jon Sumrall and the Kentucky Wildcats coaching staff, speedy three-star receiver Jeremiah Dillon has decided to stay in his home state of Mississippi and play his college football for Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.

Ole Miss has been the favorite for Dillon’s services, but a recent visit to Lexington caused some buzz that the Wildcats could pull off an upset in a similar fashion to how they stole four-star defensive tackle Mississippi native Josiah Hayes back in December of 2019.

In addition to UK, Dillon held offers from Houston, Western Kentucky, BYU, Army and Air Force, among several others.

He is ranked as the 143rd the best receiver in the nation for 2022 and 24th-best player in the state of Mississippi in 247 Sports’ rankings.

With Dillon off UK’s board, their 2022 class remains without a player listed as a wide receiver.

Names to watch to fill Kentucky’s need at receiver in the 2022 class include Lexington native Dane Key who the Wildcats are heavy favorites to keep in Lexington.
