Petition started to make “The John Schlarman Big Blue Wall”

Make it happen.

Schlarman Jason Marcum - Sea of Blue

John Schlarman’s legacy is one that will be will the Kentucky Wildcats football program for years to come. One fan has come up with an idea to actually make sure that his legacy is enshrined forever at Kroger Field.

John Harralson formed a petition at Change.org, asking UK officials to name the concrete wall that surrounds the field, “The John Schlarman Big Blue Wall.”

The petition has a goal of 5,000 signatures and currently has right around 3,400.

The “Big Blue Wall” is a phrase very familiar to Kentucky football fans. Schlarman a former all-SEC player, brought some light to the importance of the offensive line position. He also made it quite arguably the best position group Mark Stoops has on his roster year after year.

When Eric Wolford took over this off-season he promised to keep his legacy alive in the position room. There isn’t a better way to honor a guy who was such a foundational piece to the legacy Stoops has built at Kentucky.

Let’s hope this absolutely comes to fruition.
