A good sign for UK.

Less than two days after over the year-long recruiting dead period for in-person visits due to COVID-19 ended 2022, four-star wide receiver and Lexington native Dane Key was on the University of Kentucky campus.

Key took to Instagram to share a photo of himself rocking Kentucky blue.

The Frederick Douglass standout released a top 10 list at the end of March that included Kentucky, as well as Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Purdue, Wisconsin, Oregon, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Virginia, and Michigan State.

Since then, he has picked up an offer from Michigan and former UK defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale.

Key is ranked as the 34th overall wide receiver prospect in the nation for 2022 by 247 Sports and is the second-ranked player from Kentucky. He trails only Owensboro native and Rutgers QB commit Gavin Wimsatt.

His brother, Devon Key, played his college football at Western Kentucky and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs back on May 1.

Key was high school teammates with 2021 UK signees Jager Burton and Dekel Crowdus.
