Since June 1st, the new Kentucky Wildcats basketball staff has been going 100 miles per hour.

Whether it is hosting players on campus for the first time in over a year or on the road watching recruits in their summer circuits, the coaches have been making sure that recruits know that last season has revamped this program.

One of the players that John Calipari and his staff are trying to land a commitment from is five-star forward Chris Livingston. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound forward from Akron (OH) is currently ranked as the No. 4 overall player in the Class of 2022, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.

Livingston is currently considering Kentucky alongside North Carolina, Memphis, Ohio State, LSU, Kansas, Florida, Alabama, Georgetown, Tennessee State, and the Overtime Elite League.

Coming off a recent visit to Lexington, Livingston took time to talk with Jacob Polacheck of Zagsblog.com to break down the recent visit. You can find the full article in the tweet below.

One of the big takeaways Livingston let Polacheck know he had from the visit is how well Coach Cal impressed him. Here is what Livingston had to say:

“Coach Cal is a great guy. He’s really personable, considering how much of a legend he is and how big his status is in the basketball community and the world. He’s down to earth, easy to talk to, funny and cool. I like him. The coaching staff was nice and welcomed my family.”

On top of this, he also gave a little insight into the pitch Kentucky is trying to sell with the NIL rules in play. Here is what he had to say:

“Kentucky basketball, one thing that they pitched was being at the forefront of the schools that are working towards it, knowing this was going to come.”

It came out last week that Coach Cal has been going through these new rules consistently trying to figure out the best way for him and his staff to use the NIL rules to their advantage. It sounds like they are starting to get their pitch down.

Livingston also let Polacheck know that he will not be making a decision anytime soon. Especially since he is considering the pros, fans should fully expect him to wait until the spring to see how rosters work out, but also get a better feel of how much money can be made at the different schools due to NIL.
