Four-star 2022 offensive tackle Ryan Bear appears to be down to two schools: Kentucky and Michigan State.
After recent visits to Lexington and East Lansing, Baer announced on Twitter he would not be taking any visits this weekend, which included a scheduled official visit to Notre Dame.
I will not be taking my visit this weekend. Getting ready for my season and making my decision. LETS GO!
— Ryan Baer (@RyanBaer2003) June 23, 2021
The 6-foot-8 offensive lineman is a native of Eastlake (OH) and is a four-star prospect per Rivals and three-star per 247 Sports.
The lone 247 Crystal Ball pick for Baer favors the Wildcats, while Rivals’ projections are split evenly between UK and Michigan State. Both Justin Rowland and Travis Graf of Cats Illustrated have Bear landing in Lexington, but two Michigan State writers logged predictions for the Spartans today.
If Baer does pick the Cats, he’d join a 2022 class that currently ranks 13th overall in the nation by Rivals and 15th by 247. He’d be the third offensive lineman of the class, joining four-star prospects Kiyaunta Goodwin and Grant Bingham.
Baer does not yet have a decision date, but outside of Michigan State, it looks like Illinois, Virginia and Cincinnati are the Cats’ main competition.
