Kentucky is looking to pull another talent out of the city of Louisville, this time in the form of 2022 running back Jawaun Northington.
Northington, a 5’11, 185 pound running back out of Dupont Manual, is listed as the 11th-ranked player in the state, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
Northington currently holds offers from Boston College, Indiana, Purdue, and Cincinnati. He’s also being recruited by Louisville.
Manual was hit hard by COVID this season, only getting in five games before being knocked out in the first round by Saint X.
That didn’t stop Northington from shining when he did play though, carrying the ball 72 times for 589 yards and 9 touchdowns, an average of nearly 118 yards per game and more than 8 yards per carry.
With the ability to participate in camps and hopefully have a full season next year, it won’t be a surprise if Northington starts to pick up more offers. Getting in on this recruitment early can only be a positive for the Cats as Northington hopes to contend for Mr. Football next season.
