For the first time in over a year, college coaches were able to hit the road recruiting, and several made appearances at the Philly Live event this past weekend.
Rivals’ Rob Cassidy was in attendance, and he was impressed by Kentucky target Dajuan Wagner Jr., who is currently ranked as the No. 1 overall player in 2023.
“The No. 1 prospect in the 2023 class shined as a facilitator and a three-level scorer. He impressed with his elite quickness and tight handle and shot well from long-range. The five-star point guard left absolutely no room for anyone to question his lofty ranking.”
Cassidy caught up with Wagner following his stellar performance to talk about his recruiting.
The Kentucky Wildcats are viewed as heavy favorites in this recruitment, but Wagner noted he is open to every school.
“Kentucky is a great school and I love Kentucky,” he said. “I love them, but I want everyone to know I’m open to every school. I’d like to hear from every college.”
While Lexington is believed to be the likely landing spot if he goes to college, a lot of experts are starting to think he may decide to skip college and choose the professional route.
However, the new name, image, and likeness rules that are about to hit college basketball could make college a more appealing route for the 6-foot-2 point guard.
