Lively is one of the best bigs in the Class of 2022.

The Kentucky Wildcats are hitting the recruiting trail hard as they look to bring in another top class in the class of 2022.

One of the top players is 7-foot-1 center Dereck Lively, who is currently a four-star recruit and is the No. 35 overall player in the class via 247 Sports Composite. He also ranks as the No. 4 overall center and plays at Westtown School in Pennsylvania.

Last month, it was revealed that Kentucky was among the schools recruiting Lively the hardest, along with North Carolina, Kansas and Baylor among others.

It appears that is still the case, as Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers reported that Lively will be in Lexington for an official visit on June 20th through the 22nd.

Lively has now scheduled visits to Duke and North Carolina to go with his visit to Lexington.

Here’s a brief recap of Lively’s performance at a recent AAU event via 247 Sports’ Dushawn London.

“Lively possesses great size and has worked on expanding his game, which was on display this past weekend,” London wrote. “He has very good athleticism and length that helps him finish around the rim, block, and alter shots. Lively has a ton of upside and showed why he is in position to move up the next time we update rankings from the class of 2022.”

It is still too soon in this recruitment to know where he will end up playing college basketball — there are currently no 247 Crystal Ball or Rivals FutureCast predictions — but it appears that Kentucky is going to be in the mix along with other blue-blood programs.
