One of the Kentucky Wildcats’ top targets and one of the best players in the nation is taking his talents elsewhere.
Five-star defensive end Mykel Williams has committed to the USC Trojans over Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky among others.

Williams is ranked as the No. 25 overall player in the class of 2022 and decided to commit to the Trojans after completing an official visit to Los Angeles. His older brother and former Kentucky recruiting target Michael Trigg signed with USC in the spring.
Earlier this month, the open recruiting season began, and Williams was planning on taking an official visit to Kentucky on June 25th. It now seems like that visit is no longer going to happen.
However, we have seen time and time again players continuing to take official visits after committing and ending up elsewhere. So, I would expect Jon Sumrall will keep pushing for Williams to end up in Lexington.
