Among the participants at the Pangos All-American Camp, lies somewhat of a hidden gem. While Adem Bona may be considered a top-15 prospect, he’s still somewhat of an unknown.

Bona moved to the United States just back in September, originally from Nigeria and starting beginning his basketball career in Turkey, and has since been playing his high school ball at Prolific Prep.

Bona spoke with Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jack Pilgrim about his recruiting process and where Kentucky might be on that list. The Wildcats have yet to offer Bona, but have shown interest in the 6-10 center.

“It has been going well. It has been so many top schools, a lot are prioritizing me,” Bona told KSR. “Creighton, Kentucky, USC, Missouri, Kansas, there’s so many. I can’t remember off the top of my head.”

While the Wildcats have not offered a scholarship just yet, Bona says that if Kentucky were to offer, that would immediately vault the Wildcats to the top of his list.

Bona also said that he models his game after one of his favorite players in the NBA, former Kentucky big man Bam Adebayo.

“I’m working toward being a little bit more like Bam, trying to expand my game,” he said. “Bam started just like me down there (in the paint), and he’s expanded his game to be outside, so I’m trying to be like that.”

Bona admitted that he didn’t know much about the history of Kentucky basketball and college hoops in general, but said that he was working on learning about the program even when he was back in Turkey.

Bona is currently ranked the the No. 14 player by 247 Sports and the No. 2 center in the country behind fellow Kentucky target, Jalen Duren.
