University of Kentucky football assistant coach Jovon Bouknight was arrested Saturday morning by the Erlanger Police Department, according to the Kenton County (KY) public database (via Jon Hale of the Courier-Journal). UK is aware of the incident and handling the matter internally.
Bouknight was arrested by after being stopped for driving 26 miles per hour or more above the speed limit at 3:56 am. He was also charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, alcohol, etc. and possession of an open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle.
Bouknight, who just completed his first and only season in Lexington, was previously the wide receivers coach for the Oregon Ducks in 2019. The former Wyoming wide receiver was one of the best players in school history from 2002-2005. After that, he spent time coaching at Utah State and also a brief stint at Texas Tech.
