TyTy Washington wins Iverson Classic 3-Point Shootout

The TyTy Washington hype train stops for no one.

After rising in the ranks from the No. 33 overall player and a four-star prospect, to now the No. 16 ranked player (247 Sports) and a five-star prospect, Washington backed up that ranking by winning the Three-Point Shootout at the Iverson Classic last night.

Washington will make his decision one week from today, on May 15. The consensus is that he is down to Kentucky, Arizona, and Kansas, with Kentucky and Arizona battling it out.

Earlier this week, however, the scuttlebutt for Kentucky grew louder and louder with multiple crystal ball picks for Washington to the Kentucky Wildcats rolling in, including two “lock” picks. Kentucky currently holds the crystal ball projections 89% to 11%.

If Kentucky is to land TyTy Washington, that would solve their point guard problem for the time being. TyTy is good enough for John Calipari to put the ball in his hands from day one and trust Washington to go get a bucket or make the easy play.

Kentucky is still looking to add another piece from the portal or get Davion Mintz back or even both. Just yesterday, Georgia transfer Sahvir Wheeler cut his list to four and included Kentucky, though it sounds like Kansas may be the team to beat for Wheeler.

Step one, though, is land TyTy.
