The Kentucky Wildcats football team has picked up another commitment, continuing their hot streak on the recruiting trail.

This morning, Alex Afari joined KSR to announce that he will be coming to Lexington to play for Mark Stoops. He chose Kentucky over a final list of Indiana, Virginia, Cincinnati, Iowa State, and Pittsburgh.

Listed as a cornerback out of Lakota West High School in West Chester (OH), Afari is currently listed as a four-star prospect via Rivals ranked 12th in the state and 33rd among corners. At 247 Sports, Afari is a three-star prospect ranked 14th in Ohio and 39th among athletes. He is a prime candidate to receive that fourth star though in the next 247 ranking update.

Afari projects as a defensive back at the collegiate level. As a player, he uses his length to his advantage on the outside. Add in good ball skills, good route instincts, and a good burst of speed, Afari posses a lot of traits that could allow him to make a big impact for the Cats next season.

He becomes the 10th commit in the class of 2022. He is joined by Kiyaunta Goodwin, Keaten and Destin Wade, Grant Bingham, Treyveon Longmire, Jeremiah Caldwell, Andre Stewart, Josh Kattus, and Jackson Smith.
