The University of Kentucky athletics department could very likely enjoy more postseason success in the near future. After the women’s volleyball team took home the National Championship trophy a couple of weeks ago, Kentucky tennis star Liam Draxl has earned the No. 1 overall seed in this year’s NCAA Singles Tournament.

The singles tournament will take place later this month following the conclusion of the team tournament. The team tournament will be from May 17-22 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL with the singles tournament immediately afterwards from May 23-28.

Draxl has been No. 1 in the ITA Singles Rankings since April 14 and based a 19-2 singles record this season. He went 9-2 in Southeastern Conference play and, as you might expect, landed on the All-SEC Team while also being named SEC Newcomer of the Year.
