Where Kentucky recruits stand in final 247 Sports rankings for 2021 class

A class featuring Daimion Collins and TyTy Washington would be a great one.

The most popular name among Big Blue Nation for the last month or so has been TyTy Washington. Add in the decommitment of Nolan Hickman, and fans are on the hunt for any news regarding his recruitment.

A day after he announced his commitment date of May 15th, 247 Sports released their updated recruiting rankings for the class of 2021. Just like in ESPN’s updated rankings a few weeks back, Washington is among the highest rising prospects in the country.

The Chandler (AZ) Compass prep point guard, rose 17 spots from 33rd overall to 16th in the class of 2021.

In his senior season, Washington averaged 24 points, seven assists, and six rebounds. He also shot 48% from the field and 41% from three.

Originally committed to Creighton, TyTy backed off that pledge on March 11th. Since then he has been one of the most sought-after recruits in the country.

On May 15th, he will choose between a final six of Kentucky, Baylor, Kansas, Arizona, LSU, and Oregon.

Kentucky seems to be a good spot coming into the final weeks of his recruitment, and currently it seems that he might be the most realistic option to be Kentucky’s point guard to start next season.

For the two current Kentucky signees they didn’t see any movement on their rankings in this update.

Daimion Collins came in at 10th overall, giving John Calipari another top-ten player to add to his belt. Bryce Hopkins stayed put at 39th overall, despite a great senior season he put together.

Another name familiar to fans is Jaden Hardy, who came in at third overall. He recently announced he will be committing in the coming weeks, and that Kentucky remains an option. It is widely assumed he will be taking the professional route.

Hickman, who backed off his pledge to Kentucky last week, dropped to No. 41 overall. It’s his lowest ranking in any of the three major services (ESPN, Rivals and 247).

Expect some other good news to come from the transfer market in the coming days, and that Coach Cal and his staff are going to be actively recruiting one or two more pieces to join the roster next season.
