Ron “Chin” Coleman, an assistant basketball coach under Illinois head coach Brad Underwood, is reportedly coming to Kentucky and joining head coach John Calipari’s staff.

A talented recruiter, Coleman will most likely be joined by Orlando Antigua who sat on the same bench as Coleman at Illinois. Antigua, a former Calipari assistant at both Memphis and Kentucky, and Coleman will likely have their decisions announced later this week.

As Jack Pilgrim of KSR notes, their recruiting efforts will be utilized almost immediately. Kentucky lost 4-star point guard Nolan Hickman following the departure of former Kentucky assistant coach Tony Barbee.

Antigua and Coleman will have that ground to make up and then some, assuming Kentucky loses more players to the NBA Draft and/or recruits who had ties to Barbee as well as former assistant Joel Justus who left for Arizona State last week.
