Dariq Whitehead is top-10 player in the class of 2022, ranked the No. 8 prospect in the country by 247 Sports. He plays at Montverde Academy, along with Kentucky target Jalen Duren and commit Skyy Clark.
Whitehead is just one of the few wings in the class of 2022 that the Kentucky Wildcats new coaching staff is going after, with a slew of offers going out to ‘22 kids over the past few weeks such as Brandon Miller, Chris Livingston, and even Dior Johnson, who included Kentucky in his final five schools.
SI All-American broke down Whitehead’s game and mentioned that Kentucky is one of the suitors for Whitehead in the class of 2022, although he does not have an official offer from Kentucky.
Whitehead is taking an official visit to Duke on June 11, and while he does not hold an offer from Duke, taking an official visit could certainly lead to one.
As it stands now, Kentucky has sent offers to just three small forwards - Emoni Bates, Chris Livingston, and Brandon Miller. Whitehead is one that John Calipari and the new staff really need to get in on.
Hopefully, Skyy Clark can become a lead recruiter while playing together at Montverde.
