The Kentucky Wildcats baseball team hopes to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive as they open up the SEC Tournament with a matchup against Florida.

Kentucky enters as the 11-seed to face off against the 6-seed Gators. The Cats probably need two wins to have a shot at an at-large bid, and with the opening round being single elimination, today is a must-win for the Cats.

The Gators took the series in Lexington this season, 2-1. Kentucky took the first game, and had Florida on the ropes in the second before a late Gators rally, and then Florida took the third game of the series.

Today’s game should be a close one with so much on the line.

The winner of today’s game advances to face third-seeded Mississippi State on Wednesday morning as the double-elimination portion of the tournament begins.
