Now that the Kentucky Wildcats basketball roster is starting to take shape, now is the time media members and fans get to hear from the players as they arrive to campus.
Today we got to hear from Iowa transfer CJ Fredrick. He took the time to make one thing very clear, and that is to get rid of the rumors that there might have been tampering in his recruitment.

Also clarified: “Kentucky in no way had reached out to me before the portal.”
This has been a hot topic of discussion among Hawkeye fans over the last couple of months since it became know Fredrick would be leaving to finish his collegiate career elsewhere.
Look back to earlier this year when rumblings started to come out that Fredrick was interested in returning close to home. Kentucky was the favorite then, and once the rumblings got stronger, that’s when the talk of tampering took off.
Tampering is a word that fans need to get use to hearing with the explosion of the transfer portal. Plenty of fanbases are going to be accusing coaches of trying to sway their top players away from their programs.
Good for CJ though on putting those rumors to bed. With expectation high once again in Lexington for this upcoming basketball season, the last thing anyone needed was for this to continue to be a storyline over the course of the summer.
