It would appear there’s a new backcourt target for the Kentucky Wildcats via the transfer portal.

Late Friday night, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported that Kentucky had reached out to UNLV transfer Bryce Hamilton.

Hamilton, who entered the portal earlier this week, averaged 17.9 points on 43% shooting (31.3% from deep), 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a junior this past season in the Mountain West. This news comes just days after Devin Askew announced he was transferring from the program, which has left Kentucky searching for more backcourt help.

While Hamilton is certainly one of the top transfers available, you do have to wonder if Kentucky reaching out means they’re not as confident Davion Mintz returns.

Here are some highlights of Hamilton’s past season.
