Things seem to be in good shape for the Cats.

Kentucky Football has been riding a ton of momentum in the last several weeks on the recruiting trail. After landing several of there top targets in Grant Bingham and Treyveon Longmire, arguably their top target for the class of 2022 has set their commitment date.

It was reported yesterday by Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports, Kiyaunta Goodwin, a four-star recruit and top-50 player in the country, will be announcing his commitment on Saturday, April 17th. He will be choosing from a final five that consists of Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, and Michigan State.

In what has been a two horse race primarily between Ohio State and Kentucky it seems as though Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow have gotten Kentucky in a very solid position to land Goodwin. Good enough that Wiltfong also has recorded his Crystal Ball pick in favor of Kentucky.

Goodwin has been on this coaching staff’s radar for a while now as he picked up the offer back in July 2017, which was also the first Power 5 offer he received. Obviously that relationship has played a big part in getting Kentucky this far into his recruitment. He recently spoke about that relationship with 247 Sports when he cut his list down to his final five schools.

Here is what Godwin had to say:

“I have a good relationship with the coaches at Kentucky. I feel they have a very good strength and conditioning staff. Kentucky was a school when I was heavy they still showed love. I have a really good relationship with them. Their program is on the way up. Other than this year they’ve been up since Coach (Mark Stoops) got the job.”

If Goodwin decides to continue his athletic career in Lexington he would become the highest ranked commitment since Mark Stoops took over in 2013.

Is Vince Marrow about to pull off another monster commitment?

Get those dice ready folks, because it sure is shaping up that way.
