My good friend and an all-around terrific guy, Phil Baker of ESPN Louisville, joined the Kentucky Dad Podcast this week for some entertaining dialogue.
He followed up Stephon Dingle from WLKY as another brand new Dad. Phil is learning on the fly with just about four months experience under his belt.
When he’s not working, he’s spending time with his wife, Lauren, and his baby girl, Ella.
Phil holds a multitude of responsibilities working with ESPN Louisville (ESPN 680/105.7/93.9 The Ville) assisting with marketing/on-air and digital roles at the station.
The two of us dove into some deep discussion around ESPN Louisville shenanigans and the NBA2Lou movement and Phil’s involvement from very early on in the quest to secure the state of Kentucky an NBA team from a grassroots standpoint, whether that be via expansion or relocation.
If this topic interests you then you’ll find some great insight on the logistics behind an idea as massive as creating a professional organization.
The phrase is often thrown around even without real merit, but anybody who’s met Phil Baker can attest to the fact that he’s genuinely one of he nicest people you’ll ever meet in this business, or anywhere for that matter.
We hit the usual Dad Pod Topics:
- Favorite TV/Movie Dad
- Soda/Coffee/Alcohol
- Dinner plans
- Last good cry
- Dad Jokes
