Happy Saturday, BBN. It’s going to be a gorgeous Easter Weekend and it gets started with some college basketball. The Men’s Final Four tips off today at 5:14 PM as the Houston Cougars take on the Baylor Bears. Then the UCLA Bruins take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs at 8:34 PM.
Personally I’d like to see a Houston vs. UCLA final game but I think we all feel like we are headed toward a Gonzaga vs. Baylor championship game. At this point I don’t care as long as it isn’t Gonzaga holding the trophy at the end.
The chatter around this Zags team being the greatest team ever is growing and finishing this season with a title will solidify that in the minds of some college basketball writers. The 2015 and 2012 Kentucky teams are both better than this current Gonzaga team and I cannot be talked out of that.

Quickies
Cats fall to Mississippi State | UK Athletics-It was into the night as the Cats fell to number five Mississippi State 3-2. The baseball team is 18-6 overall and they close out the series today starting at 3:30 PM.
Lance Ware by the numbers | Cats Illustrated- Lance Ware definitely has some promise as a sophomore but he has a lot to work on and a loaded frontcourt to battle through.
Will the Cats be back in contention in 2021/2022? | Your Sports Edge- John Calipari will have the most players returning this season since the 2014/2015 season. Will those players improve enough and will Calipari continue to add to the roster? He’s also still waiting to hear from Keion Brooks and Davion Mintz.
Stanford sneaks past South Carolina | ESPN- The Gamecocks missed a put back to win and that last miss sent the Stanford Cardinal to the finale, 66-65.
Transfer trend seen in this year’s Final Four | CBS- Love it or hate it, the new transfer rule is making waves and has been doing so even before this offseason. Johnny Juzang and Quentin Grimes are two of the most high profile transfers playing this weekend.
Rhyne Howard an All American once again | UK Athletics- Yesterday Howard was named to the USBWA First Team All American Team. This is the third time Howard has been named to a First Team All American team this offseason.
Mark Few’s vision has been realized | Sporting News- Gonzaga has ascended as a national power, something that Mark Few has been working towards for years.
How perfect teams have fared in the NCAA Tournament | USA Today- It hasn’t been done since 1976 and the last team to try it fell in the Final Four. Can Gonzaga breakthrough?
What Trevor Keels’ Duke commitment means for Kentucky | Cats Pause- Kentucky needs at least one more guard for next season and it won’t be Trevor Keels. It’s looking more and more like Calipari is going to have to get what he needs through the transfer market. A second year of Davion Mintz would help tremendously.
