One former Kentucky Wildcats star that has seen his draft stock soar since the end of the season is linebacker Jamin Davis.

Davis wasn’t expected to be a starter for Stoops’ defense last season but after a dominating year, one draft writer believes that he should be a top-10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports released a new mock draft of what he believes teams should do with each pick. Despite most mock drafts predicting Davis to be a late-first round pick, Prisco believes he should be the 9th overall pick going to the Denver Broncos.

“In this scenario, I have them sticking with Drew Lock for another year. He did throw seven touchdown passes against two picks in his final four games, which makes me intrigued. I like Davis more than Micah Parsons, which is why he would be my pick. Adding a big-time playmaking linebacker to their defense could really make it special.”

Last season, Davis recorded 102 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 1.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

The more realistic outcome is that Davis hears his name called anywhere from 19th overall through the end of the first round. However, it would be awesome if Denver does call his number with the 9th overall pick.
