NCAA Volleyball: Women’s Volleyball Championship-Kentucky vs Washington Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a big Saturday as the Kentucky volleyball team prepares for a chance to win the National Championship against Texas. The Longhorns upset an undefeated Wisconsin team on Thursday night and are looking to add another national title to their trophy case.

The Cats have never won a title in volleyball. If they do win, they will become the fourth sports team at UK to win a national title. The other three are men’s basketball, rifle, and women’s cross country.

The game is on tonight at 8:00 PM on ESPN 2 and here are all of the details about where you can stream it, odds on the game, and just about anything else you need to know in order to prep for the match.

When it was announced the season would essentially be split into two separate seasons, we weren’t sure that the season would be finished at all. The NCAA was able to put it together and the Kentucky volleyball team was able to take advantage.

Enjoy the match tonight and let’s hope to be celebrating a championship with the Sunday Quickies.

It was beautiful to see Terrence Clarke’s brothers, fans and friends honor and celebrate his life. May God’s healing touch bless them all.

Quickies

The Cats are riding experience into the title match | UK Athletics- The Cats have been led by outstanding seniors Madison Lilley, Avery Skinner, Gabby Curry, along with junior Alli Stumler. Good luck, ladies!

Terrence Clarke was special | CoachCal.com- John Calipari released this on his website Friday at about 3:00 PM. If there is one thing you click and read on the Quickies today, make it this. If you have already read it, read it again. I did.

Oscar Tshiebwe balances being happy and competitive | Your Sports Edge- The big time transfer has a happy disposition but that all changes once he steps on the court.

Whatever happened to Dino Gaudio and Luke Murray? | WDRB- The way John Calipari and Chris Mack transitioned their respective staffs was completely different. While Cal made sure his guys had jobs before he made the moves, Chris Mack didn’t and we haven’t heard from or about either guy in quite some time.

5 things that will define Liam Coen’s offense this season | SDS- All eyes are on the quarterbacks and the passing attack.

Cam’Ron Fletcher commits to Florida State | Cats Pause- Landing with Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles is a great move for Fletcher. While his time at Kentucky was tumultuous, I wish nothing for the best for him. Hamilton runs a great program and I think Fletcher will fit in nicely there.

Cats drop series opener to the Tide | Cats Illustrated- The 10-1 loss is a big blow and the Cats are running out of time to make one final push before the SEC Tournament. The series resumes today at 2:00 PM in Lexington.

Michael Foster signs with G League | CBS- Foster is a five star forward ranked 16th in the 2021 class. He is the latest to opt for the G League instead of college. There will be more to likely follow, including guard Jaden Hardy who has an offer from Kentucky.

Tiger Woods releases first photo since horrific crash | ESPN- Good to see Tiger Woods smiling and on a golf course.

MLB contenders and pretenders | Sporting News- Which of these teams can sustain their hot start?

Colts are high on Carson Wentz | USA Today- He is compared more to Andrew Luck than the latest Indy QB, Philip Rivers.

Reds fall below .500 after loss to Cardinals | Viva El Birdos- The Reds made a charge in this one but fall to the Cardinals 5-4. That series resumes today at 2:15 PM.

Expanding college football playoff field under consideration | SI.com- They are looking at expanding the four teams to six or even perhaps sixteen teams. The new format would not go into effect until after the 2021/2022 season. I’m all for more college football, so let’s go!

This video has been making the rounds and it’s hilarious. My wife and I laughed while watching and sharing it with our friends last night. I think we all need a good laugh right now and this did the trick for us. Everybody have a nice weekend and... Go Cats, beat the Longhorns.
