Today was opening day for Major League Baseball. One of the most accomplished coaches in college basketball history announced his retirement. Kentucky football players continue to have pro day activities. And the transfer portal is the most confusing free agency scenario in sports history. What a time to be alive.
One big note specific for Kentucky fans is that 2021 signee Daimion Collins has been named as a finalist for the MaxPreps National Player of the Year award. He is joined by other nominees Kennedy Chandler, Jalen Duren, Chet Holmgren, and TyTy Washington.
No Kentucky commit has ever won the award, but Collins has a strong chance. The winner of this year’s award will be named on April 13th.
