New York Wildcats win 6th straight behind 33 from Julius Randle and huge block by Nerlens Noel

The New York Knicks are..... on a six-game winning streak.

It’s been almost a decade since Madison Square Garden was gifted a home postseason game. It’s looking more and more likely that this team will break that almost decade-long struggle.

In their most recent win, the Knicks were led by their former Kentucky Wildcats on both ends of the court.

Immanuel Quickley, Julius Randle, and Nerlens Noel combined for 53 points. Most of them were from Randle who had 33, the second-most among the two teams. Zion Williamson led the way with 34.

However, the Knicks got the last laugh as they dominated overtime, eventually winning by a final score of 122-112.

Incredibly, Randle has been far more than just a scorer, which has opened the door for the Knicks' success. He contributed 10 assists on Sunday afternoon as well. The former Pelicans forward has blossomed into a full-out star, securing his first All-Star appearance this season.

He’s averaged over 30 points per game in his last four outings and is among the top-30 scorers in the NBA. He ranks as a top-five scorer in the past week, arguably his most dominant stretch of games in his entire basketball career. It’s come with former Kentucky assistant Kenny Payne making a huge impact in his first season coaching in the NBA.

Randle’s been dominating, yes, but Sunday wasn’t just about him.

Nerlens Noel played a massive role in the team’s victory. The Williamson-led Pelicans beat you up on the interior, but Noel made life difficult for them.

On top of having 12 points of his own, Noel had a game-changing block.

On top of Noel’s block and Randle’s elite offensive work, first-round pick Quickley poured in eight points. He also had four rebounds and three assists in a mere 22 minutes.

Former Wildcat Kevin Knox finished with two points and three rebounds in six minutes.

The Wildcats put on a show and currently sit 6th in the East, two games in front of the seventh-place Miami Heat.
